I'm not certain it's still the case - but it used to be that they would
purchase books if 3 people requested them.


Recent IT books (older ones are often useless) are expensive and in high
demand - so it's hard for the libraries to have all the latest, and in
sufficient quantity to meet demand. The good news it that the ACT
Libraries do have a lot of the latest IT books in electronic form. Use
your library card to login to their web site and enjoy.
