Hi there,

I have been struggling with this setting this up for quite a while now and I
simply ran out of ideas now. I am trying to set up a wireless network using
two Compaq WL-100 cards. I wanted to stick one in my Laptop (Toshiba Portege
3440CT) and the other one in my desktop PC (Gigabyte GA7DXR mainboard), using
a PCI adapter (NetGear MA-301). I am now at the point where I think that I
have two broken cards, but I wanted to get some other input first. I will try
it with the one in the desktop PC first - this is SuSE Linux with Kernel
2.4.19 and orinoco_plx.c 0.11b. I tried the 0.12x driver as well, but it did
not really change the result.

At first it seems like the driver detects the card just fine, but then it
fails mysteriously:

root at kallisto:~ # modprobe orinoco_plx
/lib/modules/2.4.19-4GB/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/orinoco_plx.o:
init_module: No such device
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including
invalid IO or IRQ parameters

Does anyone have a clue what might go wrong here? Is there a way to get some
more debug output?

Bye,
