I'm not picking on you SP but, IMO, this claim that a single Samba 4 server shouldn't be used as a DC as well as a file server is overblown.
Yes, it's easier to handle AD and sysvol/GPO's, replication etc, separate from handling file sharing, but Andrew has said multiple times that it WILL do it just fine. If you've got a large organization and having multiple servers is feasible, and thus there's little reason not to split AD handling and file sharing - well and good.
For for small companies, where it doesn't make financial sense to have those roles split, I don't think there's any reason to "recommend" otherwise.
