[Samba] Sernet question

Sernet has two samba rpms, samba and samba-ad. Can someone explain when 
I'd use these packages.

For instance, I'd guess I'd use the "-ad" for ADDC servers. Which would 
I use for members? I'm guessing a simple file share server would use the 
vanilla rpm.

Once I get these installed, can I assume I follow the wiki as if I'd 
installed from source?
