[Samba] smbd fails to start on Fedora Core 4

Output from the two commands you asked me to run are here:

Is there anything in those two that sheds any light? I'm sorry I don't
really understand much of the output.

The smbd.txt results seem to indicate that smdb started up OK. Is that
what it means when it ends with:

"waiting for a connection" ?

If so, then it managed to run when started automatically, but not using
the Fedoras init.d scripts. If smbd is running OK, then I guess I should
redirect my questions to the fedora lists.
