[Samba] smbd fails to start on Fedora Core 4

Davin,

Try running 'smbd -d 10 -i' as root and see if that gives
any clues as to why the secrets.tdb cannot be created.
Also try running 'strace -e trace=open smbd -d 0 -i'.
Maybe there's some clue there.

What filesystems does the /etc/ directory reside on?
