Since your share setup was not supplied, I will provide one of mine. I have never run into an issue, in a multi-OS client environment where a file gets "locked" on this share. Some times OS's like to 
get a lock on an executable it is running from the network. That would not be a good thing on this share. Nadda issue...

    browseable = no
    path = /srv/shares/netlogon/%a
    locking = no
    guest ok = no
    read only = yes
    write list = @domadmin
