Anyone have this setup? I downloaded the 3.0 version
of Samba from Bull's freeware site, installed on AIX
4.3.3, modified the smb.conf.default a little, saved
it to /etc/samba/smb.conf.

I ran a testparm against it and got a couple of
errors:

Failed to load
/ii/pa/samba-3.0.0.0/usr/local/lib/valid.dat - A file
or directory in the path name does not exist.
creating default valid table
Loaded services file OK.
ERROR: lock directory
/ii/pa/samba-3.0.0.0/usr/local/var/locks does not
exist
ERROR: pid directory
/ii/pa/samba-3.0.0.0/usr/local/var/locks does not
exist

And, when I run smbclient -L I get some system errors:

exec(): 0509-036 Cannot load program smbclient because
of the following errors:
        0509-150 Dependent module
libreadline.a(libreadline.so) could not be loaded.
        0509-022 Cannot load module
libreadline.a(libreadline.so).
0509-026 System error: A file or directory in
the path name does not exist.
