| With WinXP host, RH8 VMware guest, at level 3, I

|   password=yy //DELLBOX/linuxShare /mnt/linuxShare

| and get:

|   Connection to DELLBOX failed
|   SMB connection failed
|   timeout connecting to 192.168.113.1:139
|  Error connecting to 192.168.113.1

It says no one's listening on port 139 of the host at
IP address 192.168.113.1, which is presumably the
address of the host DELLBOX. In short samba is not
running, if it is a Linux host, or some important
service is not running on it, if it is a WinDoze box.
