[Samba] solaris/windows

hi all,

 i had samba running nicely on linux a while back and i recently moved to a solaris machine as my samba server and now seem
to be having some problems.

 essentially it seems there is no way to access windows data from my solaris machine. i would like to run tape backups from
the solaris box and back up everything on my network, including windows ME data but it seems the solaris version of samba
doesn't allow this. can anyone confirm.

 note that i'm not a particuarly expert sysadmin and may just be missing the boat here.
