Greg,
The permissions on the drivers section are pretty loose, but they
definitely work. My printers will have drivers automagically installed when
clients set them up. The other dirs are all default, I have not changed
anything. cas is a group that I created.
I have been thinking of cutting back on the driver directory permissions
since I have installed all of the drivers that I need for now. I imagine
that for client downloads they just need to read the dirs. I also have a
specific write list in the print$ section of smb.conf telling smb who has
rights to upload drivers. I will also toggle the writeable flag in smb.conf
before I need to upload drivers.
This is on samba-2.2.1a.
