I am using Samba 2.2.3a on RedHat 7.2 with kernel 2.4.18-9 (but tried 2.4.7-17).

The problemem is that samba dropps the connection randomly when copying files from a Windows machine. This is what I get in the logs:

[2002/02/12 20:46:58, 0] smbd/oplock.c:oplock_break(843)
oplock_break: client failure in oplock break in file Videos/Yoshiki Drums solo (live).mpg
[2002/02/12 20:46:58, 0] smbd/reply.c:reply_lockingX(4392)
reply_lockingX: Error : oplock break from client for fnum = 11940 and no oplock granted on this file (Videos/Yoshiki Drums solo (live).mpg).
[2002/02/12 22:34:45, 0] ../source/lib/util_sock.c:read_data(436)
read_data: read failure for 3. Error = Connection reset by peer
[2002/02/12 23:06:53, 0] ../source/lib/util_sock.c:read_data(436)
read_data: read failure for 3. Error = Connection reset by peer
[2002/02/13 16:56:01, 0] ../source/lib/util_sock.c:read_data(436)
read_data: read failure for 3. Error = Connection reset by peer

This is tested from three Windows XP machines..
