[Samba] Samba and 2k/NT4 server -shares readable but not writable

Buchan,

An afterthough since my previous mail:  I am logged in
as john who has the uid of 501.  Yet I must still
specify the uid=501 when mounting the windows share to
be able to write to it.  

As I understand this, since I am the user that is
logged in when mounting the share that should be done
without having to specify it in the mount command.

Am I misreading this?  I'm losing it somewhere..
