Greetings,
Perhaps someone can offer some advice on how to get
this working. I will detail my process and whats been
done.
on the XP side of the house (client side)
1. XP_signorseal registry hack applied, value at 0
now.
2. following values set to disabled:
domain member: Digitally encrypt secure channel data
(always)
domain member: Digitally encrypt secure channel (when
possible)
domain member: Digitally sign secure channel (when
possible)
domain member: require strong (Win2k or later session
key)
Funny thing, when setting up domain login on the
client side I was able to login and setup the
parameters for the samba domain, machine account is on
server and user account as well. Also, root account on
server and in smbpasswd. It gets to the part about
rebooting and after that, I am presented with a login
screen. When I attempt to login, immediately it comes
back with (Windows cannot connect to the domain,
either because the domain controller is down or
otherwise unavailable, or because your computer
account was not found. Please try again later.)
I retrieved the log from the samba server of the
session, perhaps it can shed some light on this. One
item that is sticking out is that group nobody is
showing up, but the user I am logging in as is a
member of the admin group. Any ideas are appreciated,
TIA.
I've added the user and the machine account to the
system, also tried it via the adduser script. The
accounts are in /etc/passwd and
/opt/sfw/private/smpasswd.
One other bit of info, I have a lmhosts file on the XP
client because the Samba server is on another subnet,
however if I login locally to the laptop, I can see
the server just fine and access shares on it without
trouble.
