Greatly appreciate the reply.

So its time for an upgrade.  I've been told so, but you know human
nature...very stubborn!

Is it as simple as rpm -U, or should I rpm -e and reinstall?  One more
thing, I've never applied a patch, is it straight forward?  Are there any
common things to watch out for?   Are there some docs/howto's to guide me
through it?
