MS Office files and speed

Just a thought, but remember that Office creates a temp file when
you open an existing one, then deletes the real one and resaves
the temp file with the correct name.  So you're getting some
extra file I/O here.  It also means that you cant set permissions
on a per-file basis, since you always end up "creating" a new file.
