Failed logon to Samba PDC

Good morning, I have problem with logon to Samba 
2.0.5a (Debian 2.0.36).
Samba is setting like PDC, I have created account carrot 
in smbpasswd. Logon doesn't work, in log file is following
 message:

  Couldn't set effective gid to 1003 currently set to

  Can't become connected user!

 Important part of smb.conf:
[global]

workgroup = vegetable
security = user
encrypt passwords = yes
domain logons = yes

os level = 65
domain master = yes
local master = yes
preffered master = yes

[netlogon]
path = /data/netlogon

Can you me consult, wherein is problem ? Bear it 
somehow with access right to smbpasswd ?
