The Samba-Team are pleased to announce the availability of binary packages
for RedHat Linux. The source RPMs for all the binary RPMs are also available.

We are providing support for: RedHat 3.03, 4.0, 4.1 and 4.2
Effective for all future releases we will no longer offer binary RPMs
for 3.03 and 4.0. Support for 4.1 will be carried forward until
RedHat 5.0 is released.

You will find the ready to run RPM for your system at:
	ftp://samba.anu.edu.au/pub/samba/Binary_Packages/redhat/RPMS

Please note that these binary RPMs for samba-1.9.17p1 have been compiled
and linked with the libdes library thus providing support for encrypted
passwords (Microsoft compatible). To use this feature you will need to
modify the default /etc/smb.conf file to tell it to enable encrypted
passwords. You must then also build your /etc/smbpasswd file following
the instructions given in docs/ENCRYPTION.txt and in WinNT.txt and Win95.txt.

Happy Samba-ing.
Kindest Regards,
John H Terpstra - Samba-Team
