I strongly recommend MySQL.  You have to do a little extra work (on
the Access end) to make it work with Access under ODBC, but it's
*darn* fast.  The coming 3.21 version of MySQL with the ODBC driver
based on ODBC 3.0 should lessen the extra work considerably.
