VMS install

I am trying to install Samba on a VAX 4500 VMS 6.2 with Multinet 4.2.
I keep getting the following
%RMS-W-RTB, 512 byte record too large for user's buffer
whenever I try to edit a large file or run a com file.
 
 Also a if you know of a decent install page for samba for VMS on the web would help lots!
