For the use in Samba4, you should probably reimplement libwbclient in an
async manner. I've tried this before, but my last attempt tried to merge
this with the existing libwbclient. That makes life more complicated
than necessary, it'd be perfectly fine to have a separate library where
we can also have a more sensible API (I'm thinking more tevent-like).

That said, I'm not sure if the OP was asking about what needs to be
implemented for the S4 winbind server side. In that case, I'd actually
suggest to rather work on that winbind client library, as that'd allow
s4 to use the s3 winbindd.
