Please try a newer version of libsmbclient. I think I've fixed this
about a
year ago ;)

I am running the current version of libsmbclient, but am seeing this
same issue. Is there any fix other than just restarting the process
using the library?
Here are the samba RPMs I have install on my RHE3 system.
[root at ent3ws log]# rpm -qa|grep samba
samba3-client-3.0.28-35
samba3-3.0.28-35
[root at ent3ws log]#
