non-standard CPPFLAGS (at least) are dropped in configure.in

It is wrong in that sense that we don't need to restore LIBS/LDFLAGS in
case of success as we do with CPPFLAGS because we deal correctly with
them. It was only CPPFLAGS variable overused.
