/usr/sbin/samba and /etc/rc.d/init.d/smb

Hi,
Under Linux (many of the versions I have played with anyway), the two files
/usr/sbin/samba and /etc/rc.d/init.d/smb are created.
They have exactly the same contents, and I would have preffered that
/usr/sbin/samba be a link to /etc/rc.d/init.d/smb.
My question is, however, are both of these installed in other versions of
UNIX?
Regards
