Yes, indeed the default name a win2k box has is along those lines.
Can you ping it from an NT/cmd box? it will use netbios name resolution (ie
broadcast) and a positive response will return an IP address and with that
...

I keep seeing a "sistina-f24JL4K" server out there on my network. It seems
to
go away when I bring down my PDC, but I don't know what it is, and it's
inaccessible. It's simply a "machine" called sistina-F24JL4K, any idea what
that is? I'm looking forward to adding users/shares via server/user manager.
