Stray process?

Yes, indeed the default name a win2k box has is along those lines.
Can you ping it from an NT/cmd box? it will use netbios name resolution (ie
broadcast) and a positive response will return an IP address and with that

Subject: AW: Stray process?

Hi Tom,

looks like an automatically bye W2K generated Name. I've seen something
similar after installing NIC-drivers on a W2K workstation which had none

Kind regards,

I keep seeing a "sistina-f24JL4K" server out there on my network. It seems
go away when I bring down my PDC, but I don't know what it is, and it's
inaccessible. It's simply a "machine" called sistina-F24JL4K, any idea what
that is? I'm looking forward to adding users/shares via server/user manager.
Great work guys!
