W2K Workstation and Samba CVS Current

OS: Linux 2.2 Potato i386
Samba version pre-3.0.0  (CVS of today)

Samba is the PDC of the domain test.

A Win2000 workstation is not able to join the domain.
Entries for the workstation and valid users are in the smbpasswd file

Error message (on Win2k): 

The following error occured attempting to join the domain "test":
The system cannot find message text for message number 0x%1 in the message
file for %2.

Error message in the workstation.log:

prs_grow: Buffer overflow - unable to expand buffer by 2 bytes.

What do I do wrong?
