No, I'm not saying "they didn't try hard enough". Internode is quite 
open about the fact that they've been trying for years to get everything 
tied together, and having been down that road a few times myself, I know 
it's not as easy as just ticking a few boxes, editing a few files, 
restarting a service and *bling* you've got working groupware.

But, the only "critical need" I can find in any of their blurbs is that 
they wanted iphones to work natively with their email solution, without 
having to buy a proprietary plugin to enable it to work.
