Thanks David.

I think some of my suggestion may have been lost in the various mails.

What does this mean? I don't understand...

I consider anyone who has had some connection with Linux/FOSSD in the
Canberra region to be part of the "target" audience of the CLUG mailing
list. Jacinta is not an exception - I would consider anyone who has
given of their time and energy etc. to come and present at a _Canberra_
LUG meeting to be part of this "community".

And I certainly don't have any problems with anyone "lurking" on the
CLUG list. I just think there are more appropriate lists for them to
have their "active participation" discussions. This was all in the
original posting.

This is not really the scenario that is a problem, but the response
would be up to each individual "lurker". Some may just post back to the
list with an answer. Others may post directly to the OP. I don't want to
proscribe any particular way of dealing with this situation. People can
ask their questions on other lists if they don't get the response they
are looking for from the CLUG list.

I'm not sure why you are laughing. Linus has been to Canberra at least
twice and given a talk here at least once (although CLUG didn't exist
at that time, as far as I know). And you have (again) confused being
subscribed to the CLUG list with being involved in active discussions on
it (not that I would mind if Linus was...although others might...).

Again, this is all just coming from me. Let's see where the discussion
goes.
