Were you using the same home directory for Xubuntu and Kubuntu
(perhaps just switching with apt?), or did you wipe the system
completely? Kaffeine seems to store its tuning in ~/.kde/share/apps/
kaffeine/channels.dvb so you could try just try copying it from one
to the other.

Also check out the difference between:

~/.kde/share/apps/kaffeine/dvb-t/au-Canberra-Black-Mt

# Australia / Canberra / Black Mt
# T freq bw fec_hi fec_lo mod transmission-mode guard-interval hierarchy
# ABC
T 205500000 7MHz 3/4 3/4 QAM64 8k 1/16 NONE
# Prime
T 226500000 7MHz 3/4 NONE QAM64 8k 1/16 NONE
# WIN
T 219500000 7MHz 3/4 NONE QAM64 8k 1/16 NONE
# Ten
T 177500000 7MHz 3/4 1/2 QAM64 8k 1/16 NONE
# SBS
T 543500000 7MHz 2/3 NONE QAM64 8k 1/8 NONE

and

~/.kde/share/apps/kaffeine/dvb-t/au-canberra

# Australia / Canberra / Woden
# T freq bw fec_hi fec_lo mod transmission-mode guard-interval hierarchy
# ABC
T 205625000 7MHz 3/4 3/4 QAM64 8k 1/16 NONE
# Seven
T 177500000 7MHz 2/3 NONE QAM64 8k 1/8 NONE
# Nine
T 191625000 7MHz 3/4 NONE QAM64 8k 1/16 NONE
# Ten
T 219500000 7MHz 3/4 1/2 QAM64 8k 1/16 NONE
# SBS
T 543500000 7MHz 2/3 NONE QAM64 8k 1/8 NONE

You'll notice that SBS has the same setings on both, but the other
channels vary, so perhaps you used one set in Kubuntu and other in
Xubuntu for some reason. I think I ended up having to use a
combination of them to manually tune MythTV to get all the stations.
I had only SBS until I turned up the tuning delay, then I couldn't
get the ABC or Ten without a lot of tinkering. I'm in Duffy which I
suppose is nearish Woden, but I can also see Black Mountain out my
front window.

Cheers,

Alex
