[clug] Linux routing problem - two interfaces on same media segment, one seems isolated

Wasn't the routing - I eventually did get that right & no joy.
Wasn't the ifconfig - after reboot "Just Worked".
Wasn't the switches - we replaced them completely & the problems persisted.
