There are a couple of packages you can use to sync a mobile phone, however
could you please provide your mobile _model_ number? This might help in
narrowing down what it is compatible with.

Also, if you have a preference for Gnome or KDE desktop environments?
Kontact has built in support for phones I think, as does evolution, though
they probably use a 3rd party app to handle the communication.

Some apps that might help:
gnocky (gtk2 version of gnokii)
kandy
wammu/gammu
