We obtained our postcode layer form AUSLIG, now part of
Geoscience Australia, http://www.ga.gov.au
http://www.ga.gov.au/meta/ANZCW0703005527.html

They would be the people to ask, I wasn't able to find a
free download version.

Our resident R guru says that there's a CRAN package for
Shapefiles (my guess is it uses Shapelib).

Subject: [clug] Vector data for Australian Postcodes (for R on Linux)?

For R under Linux I'm looking for vector data to draw a map of
Australia with postcode boundaries (which I'll then colour according
some modelling). I can do this with US data which seems to be readily
available, but can't find Australian data - anyone have any ideas of
where it is available?

Thanks,
Graham
