Rhythmbox might be what you're after: http://web.rhythmbox.org

(Disclaimer: I've been told it's similar to iTunes, but having never used
or seen iTunes I wouldn't know. From my using it though, it's quite easy
to play just a certain album or artist, etc - anyway, just a suggestion.
