apt proxy software

I'm finially doing the dive into Debian.

I'm looking to use some kind of apt proxy software, since I will be running 
unstable, and thought I generally test it out under VMWare first, but I don't 
want to download all the packages twice.

The options seem to be:
apt-cacher
aptcached
apt-proxy
apt-proxy2
apt-www-proxy
debproxy

I was actually hoping to be able to install the apt proxy on a non-debian box 
(SME to be precise) if that is possible with any of them.

I'd be grateful for any recommendations either for or against any of the 
above.
