Creating folder problem..kinda

Greetings,
I am running 2.2.7a as a domain controller on RH 8.0
When I attempt to create a folder I get the following
"warning"
"You may not be able to access the files created in
the folder .... Do you want to continue?"
If I continue everything goes file (the folder is
created and I can access it). I find a file in there
called TESTDIR.TMP. I thought it may have been a
permissions thing so I opened that share up to
everybody (using chmod from linux). Changed its groups
and fiddled around and nothing seemed to work.
Interstingly if I login as "root" I can create
directories without getting this message.
This is going to drive our users nuts, can somebody
help me with a suggestion on fixing this ? Please find
smb.conf below (conf file is work in progress :-) );

I would appreciate any pointers to a solution.
