[distcc] uclibc/dietlibc (was: What's this about dlopen?)

Compiling hello.c, on P4 1.7GHz linux 2.4.20 with gcc 3.2.3, running
on to a nearby remote host:

  uclibc mean of 0.048s real time across 8 trials

  glibc6 mean of 0.055s 

Onto localhost:

  uclibc mean of 0.018s

  glibc6 mean of 0.019s

I would think hello.c would be the case most favourable to optimizing
process startup time.

I'm not at all sure these numbers are representative though.
