PRISM notification to Host

Im controlling a PRISM2 chip with a microcontroller, and it is of high
intrest that the host gets information if a transmission of data fails.
Im now trying to read the TxEx bit in the EvStat register (addr 0x30) but
nothing hapends, it is always set to 0 but i can verify that the 
transmission 
fails via an Oscillioscope.

Is this the right bit to read, if so, is it a mather of time when to
read it, i
dont know if it is reseted befor i read it.
Or should i try to do this in an other way?
