Hi Guys,
I have been trying to get this to work for a couple of days without any
progress. I am running RedHat 8.0 and purchased a Orinoco PCI adapter
and I am using my pcmcia lucent wireless card. Sometimes it will work
without any issues and everything looks okay, I am able to ping my
other hosts and reach the internet and all my services are working fine.
Other times, it wont even detect the card: ifconfig eth1 up come up
with an error saying eth1: unknown interface: No such device. I also
get 2 different kinds of errors in my log files:
Mar 1 13:11:16 kuldipmanak pcmcia: cardmgr.
Mar 1 13:11:16 kuldipmanak cardmgr[606]: starting, version is 3.1.31

Mar 1 13:17:14 kuldipmanak cardmgr[606]: Card Services release does not

_____
At times I also get:
Mar 1 12:55:12 kuldipmanak kernel: ds: no socket drivers loaded!
Could any of this be related to how far my card is from the wireless
point? Should not be but I am not sure. Any ideas as to what might be
wrong or how I can go about fixing this problem? Any suggestions or
comments are grately appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Simran H.
