SMC 2602W PCI card (newer card without PCMCIA): HOWTO with Linux/FreeBSD..

I am trying to use the 3.3V SMC2602W PCI card (the newer one without 
the PCMCIA card). How do I get this
card to work with Linux/FreeBSD. They don't seem to recognize this card 
at all (works under Windows of course :-()
. Linux-wlan-ng does not seem to recognize this card. I've tried RH 
8.0, 9.0 and FreeBSD 5.0. Any help on using
this card is really appreciated
