I think you should also copy hermes.o and orinoco.o - these are low-level 
modules used by spectrum_cs.o.  Make sure you don't have older copies of 
those drivers.

If it doesn't help, run "depmod -ae" - it will show which symbols are 
unresolved.

By the way, try the latest (0.3.3) version from 
http://www.red-bean.com/~proski/symbol/

And please avoid precomplied binaries - it can be crippleware with WEP
support broken or stripped.  My original driver does support WEP, unlike
this binary: http://www.killefiz.de/zaurus/showdetail.php?app=197
