Controlling Retry parameter

Hi,

I am trying to change the "retry" option for the
Lucent/Orioco card useing the wireless extension and
vrsion 0.8 of the driver. But it reports an error
saying that operation not supported.?? is it beacuse
the driver doesn not support it OR beacuse of the card
itself. In case card can support it, then do tell how
to change it.   

Well, is it possible to get a documentation on Hermes
Chipset as I want to read the status of some
operations.
