ESSID switching

Hi,

  I need your help on the following issues:

   -Is it possible in any way to extract a list of MAC addresses of the
clients connected to an AP?. If not is there anyway around.

   -If I have two access points connected to the same subnet, with
different ESSIDs, will switching from one AP to the other using iwconfig
<ESSID>... lead to the loss of TCP connections.
