Hello,
Im trying to configure my laptop to work with a orinoco gold pcmcia
802.11b card.
Im running red hat 7.1 with kernel 2.4.7-10.
Ive got the pcmcia services to load the orinoc orinoc_cs and the hermes
modules. The orinoc_cs module is not the latest (it came with the RH
7.1) its 0.06c.
I get the following log error (dmesg)...
eth0: failed to reset hardware(err = -19)
When I run iwconfig eth0 (btw should I be using eth0 or wlan0?) I get
the following...
eth0 no wireless extensions
a dump of the cis (dump_cis) shows that the hardware is ok (at least I
think so).
Im not sure how to tell if my kernel is configured for wireless
operation.
(is this done via the macro CONFIG_NET_RADIO?) how do I tell if this is
set?
If its not set to I need to recompile the kernel? or can it be set on
the fly?
Thanks for your help..
Steve
