On the AP, is the default gateway set to the router's interface on the AP's
own net? For example:
Router: eth0 = 192.168.1.1 (to PC's, internal DNS name = alpha.fressa.org)
eth1 = 4.3.210.98 (connection to ISP, default route of alpha)
eth2 = 192.168.2.1 (to access point(s))
AP: eth0 = 192.168.2.2
eth1 = 192.168.2.3 (the wireless aether)
I'm modelling the AP as a bridge which I think is the more typical
configuration. Now if the AP's default route is to 192.168.1.1
(alpha.fressa.org), it has no way to get packets to there, reminiscent of
your situation. Its default route has to be 192.168.2.1 which is on its own
net.
