If you're just modprobe-ing the driver of course it won't detect
anything.  PCMCIA drivers don't probe for the hardware themselves -
instead they just register and are then bound to the device by the
PCMCIA subsystem.  So unless you use the PCMCIA config files to tell
cardmgr to use the orinoco_cs driver for your DWL-650, the driver will
never be instantiated.
