Upgrading your samba to 2.2.x should improve this (but you don't say which
kernel you use, if <2.2.18 you need to upgrade that too). The idea is that
smbmount should reconnect when/if the server disconnects.

Another trick is to run something (script, cronjob) that keeps accessing
the mount every 5 minutes or so, making the NT not disconnect because the
share isn't idle.
