There's no way the repository is "under upgrading".
I sync new .deb files first, and only when it's all done, I sync
new indexes, atomically.

You had a mix of samba components from different versions.
Most likely you had samba-ad-dc (which was just a meta-package, arch-all)
from bookworm, but samba itself from bookworm-backports or from testing/
unstable.  This is something I tried to prevent in 4.20.2+dfsg-6 - before,
it was possible to install samba-ad-dc from earlier version.
