Wasn't it 16.04 that came with Samba 4.3.x ?
Not that it really matters, both 14.04 and 16.04 are EOL and Samba
4.3.11 is well out of support.

Windows released a large update and this caused all sorts of problems,
one of which is the problem you are now facing. I doubt very much that
the fix will be backported to such a long dead version of Samba.

Your best course of action would be to upgrade Samba, this will
probably entail also upgrading your Ubuntu version, sorry if this isn't
what you wanted to hear.
