What could have "resurrected" those IDs? I changed all file owners via find -uid and -gid, so there shouldn't have been any leftover! I also rebooted the host.
Side note: this server is synced to another one via Syncthing, including ownership. Of course I fixed both servers (in terms of rid and permissions), but I wonder if this could be related, if nothing else might have caused it.
