The first thing I would recommend is to upgrade your OS and then use 
Samba from here: https://apt.van-belle.nl/

If you have found a problem/bug, you will have no chance of getting in 
fixed in your version, indeed it may already have been fixed in a later 
version.

If you still have the problem after upgrading, then post again with your 
smb.conf
